Is it your first MAT session? Get ready to be involved and find some answers. You play an active role in MAT treatments where you will have the opportunity to share your specific history and be challenged through movement assessment and testing. These movements allow us to test for the range of motion and a muscles ability to contract. Our goal is to identify your weakest link.
Once your “weak” or inhibited muscles have been identified, the next step is to “activate” them by palpation or custom positional Isometrics. As your muscle gains the increased ability to contract, a common side effect in the body is an improvement in range of motion. Your body is unique and your MAT session will reflect that and be tailored to your needs.
Helping you help yourself is essential for your to return to health and independence. Whether through improved coaching of your activities of daily living or exercise mechanics, you can expect to be sent away with prescriptive exercises that reinforce your newly activated muscles. Some clients choose to stay on and train with us benefiting from ongoing support.
